As a side hobby during the pandemic I started to do repairs on handheld game systems and home consoles. At the same time I started to develop arthritis in both hands and carpal tunnel. Needless to say, manual screwdrivers were less than favorable for me. I picked this one up thanks to Tronixfix and the Retrofuture on YouTube. This has been a godsend. The torque is a little lackluster at times and requires one good turn before you can actually use the automatic feature which is fine for me. It’s rather comfortable to hold and is all metal, so it feels durable. The packaging is also something you’d find when unboxing a new iPad or iPhone, it’s truly a great unboxing experience. GREAT value for price. I highly recommend it if your hands freeze up/get painful while doing repairs.

I been looking for something like this for awhile. This product looks well made. I tested it on a toy car and was perfect. It comes with all the bits that i need. Even the packaging is top notch. Wasnt expecting such high quality. I also tried using this to build rigs. Although it works, its not good for the bigger type screws as expected, as theres not enough torque. So its great for small toys, cellphones or any electronics that is small.

This looks great and works well. Saves a ton of mindless time unscrewing small electronics.

Don’t expect to do any heavy jobs with this as the torque is not very strong. Even on small electronics you often have to loosen the screw manually first and then let the thing do its job. Sizes you a lot of time if you’re working on things that have a lot of screws and there’s a lot of twisting involved to get the screws out.

Wish there were a separate button for the light.

I love this thing. Use it for computer builds, controllers, hell even my mini lightsaber chopsticks when they needed their batteries replaced. This thing is awesome.
Magnetizer for magnetic tips for screws.
Build in flashlight for when undoing deep socket screws or working in dark areas/parts/builds.
There’s so many bits. I even had the weird Y bits for my Nintendo switch and controllers. And those are known to be tricky.
I used this to clean my wii, ps3, 2 ps4, ps4 controllers, wii remotes, 2 laptops, 2 computers, replace 2 Nintendo switch shells and remote shells.
I can say this is well worth it. And the rechargeable better is a huge plus. I hate using AA batteries

Now that I have used the Wowstick, I don’t know how I got along without it. It certainly eases the assembly of items with very small hardware. And the assortment of bits for the screwdriver is the most complete for which one could hope. The circular light at the base of the bit really helps with this old man’s poor eyesight. It is a shame that I had to find out about this product in a YouTube video from a guy in Switzerland.

I had two sets of precision screwdrivers. Neither was powered, and even with the combination of all their bits together I didn’t have the selection I got with this single item.
I purchase the Wowstick Electronic Screwdriver, on Amazon.com in early August and have had it in my shop for just over three weeks. In that time I have found out that this is an invaluable tool, especially if you do a lot of intricate work with small parts. The number and quality of bits alone are enough to make the price worth it. Add in that this unit has an LED light, reversible gears, and is relatively sturdily built and you can get the idea of just how good of a deal this product is.

I really like this tool. It works great, it has just enough power for working on electronics without causing damage, and all my iFixIt kit bits fit in it. It would be perfect if it weren’t for three things. One, the power switch is a little off center so the “In” side of the rocker switch stuck a little bit when I first got it, but seems to be breaking in. Two, the charging port. It’s micro USB and it’s on the end of the driver opposite the working end. This makes it so that you can’t really charge it while it’s on the stand. They should have just integrated the charging into the stand somehow. Three, the light only comes on while the the driver is turning. While this is useful, it would be more useful if there was a separate button for just the light. Having the tip turning while trying to line up the driver with the screw isn’t ideal.

All in all, this is a great tool. It’s just not perfect.

This thing is probably the nicest tool I have ever purchased. The torque it provides is plenty for working on electronics and drones. I have not really found the usefulness of the LED light yet as it is only on when pressing one of the buttons, and my work space is well lit, but it is a nice feature.

The packaging is great and each part of the set comes in its own box inside the main box. The boxes are well labeled as to what each contains so you aren’t wondering what something is if you don’t happen to know.

Let me qualify my rating by saying it is above 4 stars but not quite 5. If one is looking to buy this item for its torque, then it won’t meet the demands of anything that requires a bit of torque. That said, after having this product for over 2 weeks now I have found it very handy for close work involving primarily electronics. The LED lights that come with it are especially helpful in doing close work and even though I may never use every one of the bits that come with it, I am provided a nice variety that meet my needs. I even tried it as a starter tool for hinges on an interior door and it was effortless as I switched to something I could tighten firmly as this tool is light enough to hold along with a regular screw gun.

Its a pen screw driver. I didn’t really expect much of it. I just needed a quick screw and unscrew for my internal workstation components at work. maybe because I didn’t expect much, it blew my expectation of it. it screws and unscrews just fine. I can open laptops, I can unscrew the heatsink out of the motherboard on desktop, it just works. however if someone screwed in the device with their deathgrip, it will not unscrew. the torque itself on the wowstick can tighten really well but not as well as deathgrip my teammates have at work. so perhaps that’s what everyone was complaining about. I’m okay with it. I just needed a screw driver that needed to be in tight space for my big hand to turn or unturn.

I highly recommend for IT industry people.

    The good:
Packaging is excellent (but I bought this for the screwdriver, not the fancy box it came in)
Build quality seems pretty good (But I did feel the need to use a file to soften the sharp ends of the Wowstick’s body. Sharp edges on hand tools are a no-no)
You get a nice assortment of good quality bits
The magnetic Mat that comes with it is actually pretty handy.

    The not so good:
Why does the LED turn on only when the driver is turning? I need a light immediately before driving a screw so I can get the bit into the screw head, I don’t really need to see it while its turning. The LED ends up being mostly useless since I can’t use it for “aiming”.
The bit storage is awful. How is putting the bits in plastic tubes a good idea? Finding the bit you need is a real hassle. I find myself using bits from one of my manual driver sets instead of the ones that came with the Wowstick just because its so much easier to find the one I want.
The “stand” is a bit loose and wobbly. It was apparently designed to look good, not to work well. And the stand doesn’t work at all if you have one of the included long bits in the Wowstick.
The included USB charge cable is too short to reach the top of the driver when it is in the stand. So you have to lay the driver down on the table to charge it. Really??
The included carrying case (which only holds the driver and one of the three bit tubes) is of no interest to me. Give me a proper case to carry the thing or nothing at all. The included case is (in my opinion) a bad joke.

    The bad:
    Low torque
No ability to control the torque
These two combine to become “either too much or not enough power, depending on what you are using it for”

I bought this knowing it wouldn’t have massive torque. I have bigger drivers for things that need a serious “umph” factor. But still, its a bit disappointing when it won’t drive an M5 screw into a 3D printed plastic part. But that’s the minor issue. The bigger issue is that the power it has is hard to control. There is no speed control and no torque control (like a clutch). When you press the button, this thing goes all out. For big screws (M5 and up) this isn’t enough. For M2 to M3 screws it works pretty well. For anything smaller you are risking over-torquing the screws and stripping threads, especially if the screws are threaded into plastic. I used it to dis-assemble and re-assemble a watch (mostly because I wanted to play with this new toy). I ended up stripping one of the screws even though I was trying to be very careful. The trick I learned was to hold the Wowstick lightly with just my fingertips so that it would spin in my grip when the screw bottomed out. With small screws (watch size screws) you need a very delicate touch to accomplish this, and even with this technique I stripped a screw hole.

I still like the Wowstick, and plan to use it fairly often (mostly when I’m dealing with M3 screws). But the accessories are likely going to end up forgotten in a box somewhere since I don’t like the stand or the bit storage system. But I might use the magnetic mat occasionally. The really nice packaging? Its in the trash already.

To get from being a three star product to a five star one: Add speed/torque control of some sort, make the LED stay on for a few seconds after button is released and for bonus points put the bits in a proper case.

when I got this I was impressed all the way to the box and presentation of each and every part of this is wrapped in a intricate box that I am sure it hand packed … its heavy at first but that helps in offset the length and holding angle all feels very very natural. the toque is enough to break free some typically used fasteners in this size range (1.5mm) currently for my drones. the stand is very nice and holds the screwdriver in ready position and is weighted to keep it from falling over and tall enough to not let the bit touch the surface below . Usb charge easy plug in nothing crazy even gives you a small cord for travelling? mag demag and tuuuubbbbbes of bit in a nice silicone like sleeve to hold each one… I rearranged 1 sleeve to my needed ones and let it roll. LED is nice to see what going on

enough about good whats the bad …

I wish you could turn on the LED or lock it on to use it as a mini flashlight …. nothing more than and on and off or twist cap back by the USB port … or even a click button sequence to have to stay on 5 sec or so after you release…and a lock collar for the end so I could use it and not have take the gear lash out before I get a solid lock.

I use this tool almost every day. Everytime I work on my FPV racing drones this tool is a must-have item. Its sleek it’s easily rechargeable and very portable. It comes with it’s own carrying case along, that is this white hard shell case that holds the screwdriver (*only without having a bit in the screwdriver
This would be a nice addition to the case.

  14. T****a (verified owner)

Surprisingly torquey and fast haven’t had to manually break a screw loose since I got it. Not sure how long the battery last I couldn’t run to dead I work in electronic shop and I used it all week without charging I ended up putting it on the charger Friday afternoon just so it would be fresh on Monday. My only complaint is that it had some sort of charge indicator which it might I noticed the LED light on it doing a couple different flashes but I never bothered to read the instruction manual because it was just so intuitive. Awesome customer service as well I had one of the stupidest questions in the world looking back at it now and answered it without making me feel stupid as well as sent you a few extra specialized bits that I used for free couldn’t recommend this product enough.

  15. V****l (verified owner)

I work on game consoles, and while this doesn’t have every bit I’ve needed it will accept other bits just fine. It has enough torque to where even if it won’t break it lose, you can break it loose by hand then go for broke.
Not really relevant is the packaging, but the way everything is laid out reminds me of old Apple products. They just exude quality because you can tell they took the time to prepare everything and lay out the instructions and all the bits and bobs nicely.
